What are good workouts to keep in shape for skiing?
I live in Texas, but every spring break, I love to go up and ski with my relatives in Colorado. Help?

- you can roller blade it help also you can bike, weight lift, stretch , unicycle, martial arts , trampoline or yoga .
- Many things are good for keeping in shape, but for skiing one of the best is to put something on the floor that is about 1 foot high (maybe less to start) and jump with both feet over it sideways. If you go back and forth several times you will build good skiing muscles.
- One of the best single ways is mountain biking (not too many mountains in TX, but there are a few hills). Run for cardio, leg presses/lunges, etc. for leg strength.
- Anything that works out your legs will help. Running (if your knees can handle the impact), biking, roller blading. lunges are great, jumping rope is another. Do a lot of stretching, make sure your legs are flexible and can withstand the impact and pressure of skiing. A blown knee is no fun at all (I have blown both). Also, do a variet of sit ups/crunches/core excersises. Your mid section is where most of your real stability comes from, so if you keep that strong you will have a much better time tearing it up on the slopes.
